In March of 2018, I was asked to travel to Wichita, KS to work on an extremely special and very limited car... the 2017 Ford GT. This wasn't just a "pick some options they offer" Ford GT, but actually a custom spec'd one, including the one off paint color. I was asked to help by Wichita local detailer, Andrew Holder of Holder's Detailing. The plan was to remove the factory defects (surprisingly there was quite a few), apply Suntek Paint Protection Film to the entire vehicle and finish it off with a Ceramic Coating. I would be assisting in everything except the Ceramic Coating. Our crew had the vehicle completely polished and defect free by early afternoon on day one and immediately started prepping the car for PPF. Up to this time, only four Ford GT's had been completely PPF'd, so information was slim on how to attack this difficult car. We spent a total of 4 days laying PPF on every exterior panel, the Carbon Fiber along the lower half, even the Carbon Fiber inside the car. I had to head back to Arkansas Friday afternoon, so we pulled it outside so I could snap some pictures for my portfolio. After I left, Andrew applied the Ceramic Coating and delivered the vehicle to an extremely happy client. This experience/vehicle will definitely be one of my most memorable details to date. Enjoy the photos.

Every year, CQuartz Professional and Finest Reserve Installers gather in one location, to discuss methods, products and industry changes. We call this seminar “The Verge”. With a hand picked network of the industry’s best detailer (around 100 of us in all of Canada, US and Mexico), we are a tight knit group of friends that love passing knowledge and experience to one another. This year (2018), we met at Cavallo Auto Salon in Houston, TX. We trained on Paint Protection Film, Advanced sanding techniques, perfecting paint using multiple types of machines, coating processes and future versions and finished it up with a day of business discussions and personal successes. As an installer, this event helps me hone my skills and bring back new knowledge to all of Northwest Arkansas, year after year. Just as with any industry, products, tools and techniques are constantly evolving. This allows me to ensure we constantly stay tuned and ready to deliver the best product possible to our clients.

This year we raised well over 300 toys, bringing in the largest donation to date! It was such an amazing event to be apart of and we are more than excited and honored to host the event.

As much as we love perfecting paint before layering on CQuartz, some people just don't find the need for perfect paint. This service allows you to enjoy the protection that CQuartz provides, while not requiring you to have your paint looking as fresh as possible and not having to be without your vehicle more than a day.

In June, myself, Michael Gottlieb (Thumpers Auto Salon of San Antonio) and Joe McGrath (Dirty Details of Virginia Beach) decided to make another trip to the west coast. While there, we would test out new Shine Supply Products and work with some of the best detailers on the west coast. We arrived in Los Angeles late afternoon and after a quick dinner at The Boiling Crab (delicious!), we headed up to Santa Barbara to meet up with Nick Colbern of Colbern's Detail. We wasted no time and around 8:00pm instantly jumped on a Blue Porsche 996. The four of us were able to do a complete Paint Correction and Coat it with CQuartz UK in just a few hours. The owner was ecstatic in its appearance, letting us know the job was complete! Day two we were joined by Stefan Lungstrum (Authentic Detail of Vacaville, CA), Rob Noonan (20/20 Detailing of Sacramento), Corey Lippincott (Corey's Kreative Detail of Murrieta, CA) and California Reflections. Together, we all knocked out a quick mobile job for Colbern's Detail and then headed south to the Shine Supply Headquarters in Ventura, CA. While at Shine Supply, we all teamed up and did a full Paint Correction and CQuartz Finest Detail on a Black Porsche 997. It didn't take much time considering each person could work on a panel, but we took advantage of the situation and spent the day product testing and teaching each other techniques. This was by far the most amazing experience of my career as I learned so much! The next few days were spent hanging out, shopping at Shine Supply, eating some good food and exploring the area. I miss my extended family and absolutely cannot wait to go back and do it again! In the meantime, I will take everything I learned from them and continue to turn out the killer results my clients expect. See you soon Cali!

I'm a little late posting this, but I guess, "Better Late than Never." In December 2014, I received a call from Shine Supply creator, Jeremy Stevens, asking if I was up for traveling to California. The catch was, I would be leaving the next week!! Without hesitation, I booked a flight, packed my bags and set out to the West Coast. Jeremy had three days of work, play and training prepared. Day One, December 8, I met with fellow detailers Josh Wiley and Austin Hedges (Wet Detail-Memphis), Michael Gottlieb (Thumpers - San Antonio), Nick Colbern (Colberns Detail - Santa Barbara) and Kyler Martin (Kylers Detail - Seattle) to begin an epic journey. We traveled two hours outside Los Angeles to a Semi Truck facility, to perform Gloss Enhancement and Waxes on seven Sleeper Cab Trucks. It took us 8 hours to complete something we imagined would take two full days.. and we were worn out by the end of it! We finished up the night chowing down on some of the best sushi to touch my taste buds! Day Two, December 9, was spent at the Shine Supply Headquarters. We were greeted by founder Jeremy Stevens, Employee Jared Raschke and fellow Detailer, Wes Walz (Elite Finish Detailing - San Diego). We used this day to familiarize ourselves with the complete Shine Supply line of products, test out new ones and do some training. We used our rental car as a training surface and spent 4 hours learning tips and practicing Advanced Paint Correction. Basically, we had nine of the craziest detailers in the country, in one room, making a rental cars value sky rocket. It was AWESOME! Day Three was the saddest of them all. It was time to head home. We made one last trip to the SS Headquarters, to stock up on supplies and say our goodbyes. It was then off to the airport, but not before grabbing a quick lunch at In N Out Burger.. I think we ate there daily. In conclusion, I had an excellent time and motivating experience. I learned so much from everyone on this trip and cant wait to make my next. I truly believe you can only teach yourself so much... traveling, experiencing and learning is key to growing your skills and that's exactly what I did.
